DesireWork ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the DesireWork application you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide them, optional demographic details such as age range, gender identity, race/ethnicity, relationship status, education level, income range, geographic region, and political affiliation. Every demographic field includes a "Prefer not to say" option and is entirely optional.

Inventory & Activity Data

When you complete inventories, Root-Out Activities, or Daily Desire Currents, your responses are stored so we can generate your personal reports and track your progress over time.

Feedback

If you submit feedback through our in-app forms, we store your responses to improve the application experience.

Usage Data

We use privacy-respecting analytics (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights) to understand aggregate usage patterns. These tools do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites.

We also record first-party usage events within the app — such as starting or finishing an inventory, viewing a report, or clicking a call-to-action — tied to your account so we can see where the experience works and where it can be improved. This data is never shared with or sold to third parties. It uses your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) to group events from the same session.

If you take the free “Desire Snapshot” quiz, we store the email address you provide along with your answers and results, and add your email to our mailing list (you can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send). This record is retained so the snapshot can be offered once per email, even if you later unsubscribe.

2. How We Use Your Information

Personal information collected through this application is used solely to:

• Generate your personal reports, scores, and dashboards.
• Save your progress across inventories and activities.
• Improve the application based on feedback you voluntarily provide.
• Communicate important account-related updates.

Your personal information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Ever.

3. Anonymized Research Data

During sign-up you may opt in to allowing your anonymized, de-identified data to be used for research purposes. This consent is entirely optional and can be changed at any time in your Account Settings.

If you consent, your data will be stripped of all personally identifiable information before it is used in any research context. No researcher will ever be able to link research data back to your account.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Access to your personal data is protected by row-level security policies, meaning only you can read or modify your own records through the application.

While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable and industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us and we will process your request promptly.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct or update your information at any time via your Account Settings.
• Withdraw your research consent at any time without affecting your use of the application.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

7. Cookies & Tracking

DesireWork uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that follow you across other websites.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the application:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication.
• Vercel — application hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring.
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in provider (only if you choose to sign in with Google).

These services process data only as necessary to provide their functionality and are bound by their own privacy policies.

9. Children's Privacy

DesireWork is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you through the application. Your continued use of DesireWork after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
